Beh...I think I liked this book better than you did. Behn view on race and slavery is quite interesting, if for no other reason than being different from normal conventions. In her view people are not slaves because they are black and masters because they are white. She accepts and even condone slavery, but for people who "deserve" it. Not for noble people who are above slavery, balck or white. English scum is as bad as African scum and a prince is a prince regardless of race and even religion.
